So why not go on a foodie adventure?
A trip to Blogher Food has been in the works for quite awhile, but finally when I was on the ferry to Lexi's house yesterday it seemed a little surreal. Today we packed our bags and headed south to Seattle! (For the record, I packed a few days ago. Lexi, the stealth "carry on only for 3 weeks in Paris" packer, managed to get her stuff together this morning.) We cruised in comfort in the cute little Chevrolet Cruze that Chevrolet Canada so kindly loaned us and motored on across the border.

| Seattle, please give us a little sun. Love you, Karen. |
Once we arrived, we did a walkabout to Pike Place Market and found DeLaurenti, an amazing Italian Market. I kinda want to just plunk a cot right in the middle and stay there, noshing on all the wonderful food. Really, I'll be good. I'll even work! You can pay me in cheese.

| This is only HALF of that cheese case. Lexi and I considered buying big slabs of cheese and taking them back to the hotel room for lunch. |
We wandered around the market, looking at prawns as big as my hand, the massive bouquets of gorgeous flowers, and listened to the fish mongers yell back and forth as they flung fish to each other. The market was quite busy, but I think that is to be expected. We then browsed around Sur La Table (where I just wanted to buy everything in the store), and made our way back to the hotel.
This morning as we were grabbing our coffee, David at the Yaletown Starbucks recommended we have dinner at Matt's in the Market, so we are off again to see what fun there is to be had. Comfy shoes? Check. Delicious food? Check. Great friends? Check.
I have a feeling this is going to be one kick ass weekend.

Disclosure: Thanks so much to Chevrolet Canada, our amazing sponsor who has loaned us a car for the weekend, and also is reimbursing our conference tickets, gas, and accommodation. We love working with you!
