10:00 am. When you have teenagers, everyone gets to sleep in! It's wonderful, and gives me time to get the big gift under the tree because the teen? Slept until 10:30 am. I started making breakfast.
11:00 am. Wait...breakfast? We opened gifts first while these amazing maple syrup glazed bacon pecan chickpeas roasted in the oven. Then we scarfed them down with croissants, oranges, glasses of milk, and later big cups of coffee.
12:00 pm. It's never, ever, Christmas in this house until John and Kevin are building something. This year we found a very old stereo system at the thrift store that Kevin wanted, and they spent hours fixing/taking it apart. It even has an 8 track player! I laughed that out of all the gifts, he's most excited about something under $10 from the thrift store.
1:00 pm. Gifts from an amazing friend (not pictured: a way cute elf cookie cutter and mini pie plates) This girl really gets me! Lots of treats to eat, cool food things to play with (lime oil!) and a beautiful handmade stocking.
2:00 pm. Wind, rain, sun...the weather isn't that great today, but the view across the Strait of Georgia from my kitchen is amazing. I thought those black specks above the houses and trees were something on my lens at first, until I realized they are birds.
Come back throughout the day as I add to this!
