A Month of Bliss

One year ago this month, a childhood friend of mine passed from lung cancer.  It wasn't entirely unexpected, I knew that he didn't have much longer.  Those last conversations with him were so bittersweet; I couldn't believe that after years of wondering where he was, then finally finding him, he was dying.  It just didn't seem fair.

A year has passed, and so much has changed.  I'm facing this November with two people that I love doing battle with illnesses, and so you know what?

I'm totally calling it.  November, you are dedicated to Bliss.

Be it photos, videos, food or stories, I am going to be sharing whatever makes me happy, causes me to giggle, or warms my heart.  Roger always told me that there was no point in complaining because someone always had it worse than he did, so instead there will be celebration.

Start the celebration by dropping by Grace in Small Things and find out what made me smile this week, or even better, join the community and create your own page!

You are invited to join in as I look for the bliss in every day.  Send me funny photos, links to video, share something in the comments, and I'll do my best to share them here.  We are all in this together, after all.  Some days, I might have to dig deep.  The Bliss isn't always easy to find, and sometimes, I admit I may lose sight and need you all to help me out, but that's okay.

That's what friends are for, after all.
