Yep. You heard that right. None.
Wait a sec. None? What about bread? Chocolate? Pasta? Are you kidding me?
Well, let's be realistic. I don't have the time to make my own bread and pasta, or even yogurt for that matter, as much as I'd like to. Maybe I'll get to the yogurt this month-I do have a way cool yogurt maker.
There are small victories, though. I made a great carrot ginger soup last night completely from scratch, right down to the chick peas and home made chicken broth. Today I whipped up some of Andrea's No Fail Tortilla Pitas, then topped them with cheese, proscuitto, veggies, olives, etc and baked them, then piled them with baby arugula dressed with olive oil and fresh lemon.
Oh, MY. They were SO good. I'll put up the recipe soon over at Chasing Tomatoes, because you MUST try this. We ended up folding them in half and eating them right out of our hands as they dripped all over and generally made a mess. A delicious mess it was! The leftovers will be great tomorrow for lunch, I'm sure.

I had thought about buying lavash, which is what the recipe that provided me with inspiration called for, but these no fail tortilla pitas really are the bomb. I love them-and really, they didn't take long to make either. One thing I am finding, is that with Kevin no longer packing lunches, things are so much easier-although he eats FAR less. Leftovers populate our fridge a lot longer!
What else do I have up my sleeve for the week? Would you believe that I forgot about Thanksgiving? Forgot. Completely. As in..."isn't there a holiday coming soon?" Good thing my guys aren't picky at all, as long as they get their pie. What is your favorite Thanksgiving food? It's a close tie between stuffing and pie in this house, and this year I plan to share some cranberry recipes, as well as my stuffing, and more. The food will be everywhere, I tell you.
Wait-I told you I had an announcement, didn't I? A biggie? Something way cool? Well listen to this-I am now officially the Food Editor over at Yummy Mummy Club! As in the gal who will be helping to develop content, build the food section, create recipes, source out articles, you name it. I am SO EXCITED to be helping to get it going from the ground up! There's so many exciting things to come.
Also, you'll soon be able to meet my amazing sponsors for Blissdom Canada, who I am thrilled to be working with. Things just keep getting better and better!
On that note, I'd like to ask all of you what you'd like to see in the Cookie Jar. More recipes? How to? What do you like best? Stories? More about my area? Speak to me, guys. Tell me what you'd love to see, and I will make it happen.
The best is yet to come.
