When I get stressed, I become a hermit. Suddenly I'm sleeping for 12 hours at a time, I retreat from the online world, writing becomes impossible, cooking is no longer fun, I quit answering the phone, and my little house becomes my space to just BE.
The last month I've slowly become a hermit, but this week it was there in full force until finally, I unplugged, went to bed, and didn't get up until 14 hours later.
Life has caught up with me. For the longest time I was able to ignore the un-bloggable things, explain them away, put my head down and push ahead but the other night I realized that no, I need a break. So this weekend, I'm taking one.
On the agenda:
-Walks with the hubs, with my camera. I should dig that out and take some photos for you!
-relaxing in my kitchen. There's a bunch of recipes I want to try, and I can't wait to cook. I don't know about you but the chopping, stirring, whisking, is my happy place. It takes my mind off of things that bother me and I have a whole fridge full of delicious things as a result.
-cleaning. Let's be honest, I hate cleaning, but it needs to be done. Somehow the mindless floor washing and vacuuming can be kind of therapeutic, too. There's all kinds of things around here that need organizing before the dust bunnies start multiplying.
-coffee with a friend. Always my happy place, and something I can't wait to do each week.
I have my fingers crossed that once I've been able to do some of that, my creative groove will re-surface because I've missed her. It's like once stress moves in, she takes a vacation.
Stress, begone. I don't want you around here anymore.
This weekend, I'm giving you the boot.
What do you do when you are stressed out?
PS..Food Revolution Friday is coming, albeit a bit later today. Keep posting your lunches on my facebook page, I have more of mine coming too!
