Fabulicious Friday Five 2010: #5 Contests, A Road Trip, and other fun stuff

It's Spring Break here AND Friday, which makes this Fabulicious Friday extra special-like fabulicious. (try to say that 10 times real fast)

1. Road Trip Alert!

Road Trip 2010 has been all planned this week! Want to know where we're going? WHO we'll be meeting? (I'll give you a hint. She's a real kick-ass blogger who loves Diet Coke) Head on over to see what I have finally talked Hubs into, and tell me if you have any travel plans in the works. Or if you have travel tips and advice for those areas, I'd love to hear them. Especially non chain like restaurants.

2. Contests and Giveaways happening:

There's a sweepstakes happening (USA residents only) to promote the book Fireworks Over Toccoa by Jeffery Stepakoff. I haven't read the book yet, and St. Martin's Press is sending me a copy to review. You can check out an excerpt from the book and until March 30/10, enter to win a romantic picnic basket for two.

For the Canadian folk, if you live in the Ottawa area go see Dani at Postcards From the Mothership. She has a great giveaway going on where you could win tickets to see Mysterioso: Music and Magic at the National Arts Center. The draw will happen around noon on Monday, March 15th EST so run on over and get your name in! Quick!

3. Yummy yogurt you just have to try: Island Farms Vanilla Plus Lemon Meringue Pie

Let's be clear here: I hate lemon meringue pie. It's...gross. All that meringue-y stuff (see I'm even making up nonsense words about it). This yogurt though, is amazing. It's sweet and lemon-ish but not too sour, and really rich, and I could eat the entire tub in one sitting. But I won't, because something we're doing on the road trip involves bathing suits.

4. Twitter-ifical person to follow (because obviously I've had too much coffee today and am making up all kinds of weird words) :

@MrsWonka: Not only is she fun to tweet with, but she has a blog about...chocolate. Chocolate! How could anyone go wrong with that?

5. Two Canadian Bloggers you need to read:

Breadcrumbs in the Butter: I've been reading (lurking?) over there for years. Chantal is a fellow Canadian blogger, and I really enjoy her writing. I think you would too, so go take a look!

Merry and Dewey in Canada: She awesome, posts a weekly recipe, is Canadian, and is fun to chat with on Twitter! Aren't those kids super cute? It's fun to read about Calgary, since we have family there as well and have visited often.

So what are you up to? Read anything good lately you want to share? Or just say hello? Delurk, people! I'd love to hear from you.
