Fabulicious Friday Book Review: Firefly Lane

Awhile ago Authors on the web sent a copy of Firefly Lane to review. I've never read anything by Kristin Hannah before, so I had no idea what to expect.

I ended up reading the book three times, I enjoyed it so much. By the time I got to the end, all three times I had to break out the tissues. Books have to be amazing to make me cry, and this one did. Three times in a row.

If you've seen the movie Beaches, this book is a bit similar. The truth? I like Firefly Lane so much better. Two girls meet each other as teenagers, become inseparable friends, and experience the ups and downs of life together-marriage, kids, careers, the works. I'm not going to give away any of the juicy stuff because I think it would really ruin it for you. Suffice it to say, at one point there is a horrible betrayal, and then a crisis, and these characters find out just how much they need each other. It would make an excellent summer read, but remember to keep those tissues handy! I admit that the books that are sent to me usually are donated, but this one is really so amazing I'm reluctant to part with it. I may just have to find a special friend to pass it on to.

Kristin Hannah's latest book to be released is titled True Colors, and I can hardly wait to get my hands on it.
