At the beginning of the school year, Jake's laptop computer was the source of a lot of teasing by the kids.

"Hey, you're just lazy."
"Stupid kid can't even WRITE!"
"Only retards would need something like that."

Jake tried some strategies that worked okay, and some 'snappy comebacks' that didn't work so well. In other words, he was using the smart ass come backs on even the nice kids because he was in "I'm so annoyed with people in general" mode.

So we had to tell him to stop the snappy comebacks before he gets stuffed into a garbage can, m-kay?

Now it's November, and the other kids basically see Jake, not the-kid-with-the-laptop. Well. Most kids. The other day went like this:

Kid: "Hey are you such a cripple that you can't even type and have to use some stupid VOICE program?"

Jake: "Are you so ignorant that you don't even know what cripple means?"

Oooo...looks like he's mastering the art of the snappy comeback after all.
