With the big pumpkin day less then a week away, things in the Cookie Jar are hitting into high gear. Usually I'm one of these anal plan it months ahead people, but this year I just haven't been into it. Now it's time to pull out those decorations and get the spider farm up and running because the neighborhood teens all know me, and guess whose house they are all planning to visit?
We'll be getting our Halloween on this weekend and have the pics to prove it!
Fabulicious Friday was a bit neglected the last few weeks but here it is again with some fun things for you to check out....
1. Way Cool Widget-y Fun: A Blogumus Flash Animated Label Cloud by Blogger Buster
I love Blogger Buster. Amanda explains things so well, and I can follow her instructions with few troubles. This widget didn't work on this blog, but I had no trouble installing it on Recipes From the Cookie Jar. Go check it out! This widget was originally Roy Tanck's WP Cumulus plugin for Wordpress, but Amanda tweaked it for Blogger users. I love this widget-the moving labels look so cool! She even gives you instructions on how to change the colors/size.
2. Environmentally Friendly-ism: Seventh Generation Free and Clear Laundry Detergent
With a Hubby and kid that can't stand anything scented, and a tiny town with no selection, I'm always on the alert for scent free laundry detergent and this stuff fit the bill. Sure enough, it looks like regular laundry detergent and doesn't have any chemical smells. My laundry came out nice and clean, too! The only thing that I don't like, and this happens with almost all laundry detergents, is it's really hard to see the lines and numbers in the cap. I wish manufacturers would do them in color, you know?
3. Get Your Bloggy On: The Bloggy Giveaway Carnival is Back October 27-30!
Notes from the Cookie Jar currently is not participating in the giveaway carnival. It was just a LOT of work the last few times and so I'm taking a break. However, everyone else should go check it out as I'm sure there will be prizes to be had! You don't need to have a blog, just lots of time and patience to sort through the 1000 or so giveaways. Whew!
Notes from the Cookie Jar does have 4 $5 Starbucks cards (two in $USD, two in Canadian $) that will be up for grabs for those participating in an ornament swap in early November, so keep an eye out for that.
4. The Great Cookie Vote: You Pick the Next Cookie!
Notes from the Cookie Jar is allowing readers to tell ME what you want to see being whipped up here in the kitchen! Check out the poll on the right and choose the cookie that YOU would like to see made (along with the recipe posted), and on the weekend I will make a batch! This week's winner was the Chocolate Thin Mint-yum! Take a look and see what would be your pick for next week.

Or if you're like me and can't stand live actors jumping out and giving you heart failure:
