It's been a crazy week, but I've still been keeping an eye out for what's happening in our neck of the woods just so I can give you the scoop!
1. No need asking the neighbors: Canada Post's hold mail service
This is a great idea! For about $14 for at least two weeks worth of mail, you can have it safely stored with them instead of hanging out and clogging up your box. Really handy if you have important items you may be expecting, and then there's no relying on the neighbors. I love it!
2. Keep 'em busy: Magnetic Travel Tangoes
I saw these the other day and began making the puzzles myself. The magnetic backing keeps the pieces on the workspace, the answers are on the back of the cards if you need a hand, and the whole thing snaps shut so there's no lost pieces. These are a great addition to a travel activity pack!
3. Finally, new episodes are back! : House
Is it just me, or did it take forever once those writers came back to actually produce new episodes? I'm not even a real TV lover, but I was beginning to feel the pain too. Yikes! It's nice to have the cranky doc back. Glad he's not MY doc these days, though.
4. The sequel we can't wait to see in theaters: Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian
Oooo....this looks good! The Narnia books was one of my very favorite series as a child, and I can't wait to take Jake to see this. Jake is excited, but the movie he really can hardly wait to see is Inkheart, due out in early 2009.
5. Cool local happening: Vancouver International Children's Festival
Happening May 12-19, the Children's Festival is celebrating it's 30th year! There is just so much going on there that it's impossible to list here, so go over to their site and check it out. Tickets are on sale right now and from what I hear, they go quick so buy early!
