Singing in the snow

"Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle all the way....." Hubs was singing off key this morning as he looked out the window at snow lightly falling. Compared to most of Canada, we get relatively little snow, so it's a bit of a big deal when it actually happens. We generally sit by the fireplace, sip coffee, and watch movies, read, or...crochet. I might bake gingerbread men and put up the Christmas decorations. Maybe we could even go hock some of those fundraising poinsettias.

Jake had the audacity to grow and his boots, gloves, snow pants, and even his hat don't fit him. Do you think I can find any here in town? Nope. Isn't that nuts? Not even a pair of gloves! We have to travel to the city for gloves or just order a pair online! Crazy!

"You woke me up!" Jake says to Hubs as he staggered out of his room, rubbing his bleary eyes.

"I'm the best alarm clock there is!" Hubs chirps happily. He's a very annoying morning person. The kind whose cheerfulness makes you want to smack him so he'd just shut up and leave you alone, already. Or at least wait until your second cup of coffee has kicked in.

Jake and I exchanged a long, knowing look. We often ask, or even beg, Hubs NOT to sing. He usually only does so when he feels like annoying us.

"Um....I'm not so sure about THAT."
