An Afternoon of Painting and Brownies

So after our discussion the other day about how much Jake 'hates' art because he 'can't' do it, we spent a day catching up on his school art assignments.

My only intervention was to teach him some painting techniques-how to shade, how to fix your mistakes, and how to draw the face in reasonable proportions. The painting and drawing was all his.

He worked very hard and was so proud of the results that he agreed to let me post it here.

"Art is fun!" he exclaimed.

"So are you going to let your teacher display it?" I asked.

"No. Just on your blog."

I think he did a fantastic job, personally. The eyebrows look like they are having fun, don't they? It's not quite finished, tonight he needs to paint on a shirt. This, my friends, is far more constructive then the mess in the garage last night.

Of course, having these to snack on afterwards was a great motivator too. Want the recipe? It's right here!
