My son's very favorite cookie!

2 1/2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
1 cup dark brown sugar, packed
3/4 cup white sugar
1 cup butter, softened
3 large eggs
2 tsp vanilla
2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips

In a large bowl with an electric mixer, cream the butter until light and fluffy. Add sugars and beat well. Scrape down the side of the bowl and add the eggs and vanilla, beating until well combined. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda and salt. Sift cocoa powder into the mixture and mix with the whisk until combined. Add to butter mixture and stir until just combined. Fold in chocolate chips.

Drop by Tablespoons about 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 for about 20 minutes.

-Smartie or M&M cookies...after dropping the dough on the cookie sheet, press about 5 Smarties into each cookie and bake as usual
-Reverse cookies....use 1 cup white chocolate and 1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips, or even 2 cups white chocolate chips.

Makes 2 dozen
