Hey! Do you like my new layout? Do ya? Do ya? I spent all weekend figuring out HTML code, and along with a little help from some online HTML tutorials (and whispering sweet nothings to the hard drive), I got this working. Yay me! Please use the comments and let me know what you think!
Kevin has some recommended reads in the sidebar (but he told me to stress that Scary Stories to tell in the Dark is NOT for the faint of heart). He also chose those cute little dancing pumpkins. We have a new plethora of Calvin and Hobbes books in the house thanks to a recent book order that has been keeping him busy. In fact he likes to read them to me while I'm blogging, silly boy.
That very cool moon was an idea that Danigirl from Postcards From the Mothership said, "please, pilfer away!". (Thanks Dani) I thought it went nicely with the Halloween/Thanksgiving theme, don't you?
Speaking of Thanksgiving, for you Americans, you may notice that I have it posted as October 9th. That is for us Canadians, since we aren't silly enough to plan two turkey dinners a month apart. We have ours a little earlier so we can run off all that pumpkin pie and stuffing before Christmas-and avoid the in-laws a little longer.
And finally.....check out Kids Can Travel for a new article on how to make a travel journal with your kids. You don't have to be super crafty to do it, it's not expensive, and it's a great keepsake! Kevin loves to show his to his friends and it becomes something that we even pull out on a rainy day occasionally. I love this site, it has lots of great tips whether you're taking a quick trip somewhere or a loooong one like we did. If you have a special needs child and don't feel it will work for you, stay tuned-there will be tips for adapting the activity for Special Needs children to come.
PS..I'm still new to HTML, so there are probably bugs in this. Please tell me! For instance, I see the changes on IE, but not on my Mozilla browser. Ack! Needs more work I guess.
