Chocolate Rice Krispie Squares

Edited to entire year later we tried this again and changed the recipe a bit. They are even better now!

I made these the other day and a friend declared them to be "The Best Rice Krispie Squares I've Ever Eaten!"
So I thought I'd share.

Karen's version of Rice Krispie Squares....

1/4 cup butter
40 large marshmallows
5 1/2 cups Rice Krispies (the real thing, none of the No-name Brand ones)
1 cup chocolate chips

First you melt the butter and marshmallows together over low heat until they are completely melted and smooth, stirring the entire time. Then pour in the cereal and the chocolate chips. The chocolate chips melt and streak through the cereal...which is really yummy. With buttered hands, press the mixture into a buttered 9x13 inch pan and let sit for about 1/2 hour before you cut them.

They turn to be gooey, moist squares instead of dry ones. We love 'em. And in my opinion, everything is better with chocolate.
